Sassy Questions with Shannon Baker

It is such a great morning here, today's Sassy Questions is with the Fabulous Shannon Baker! So grab some coffee or some tea and join us in getting to know Shannon.

Welcome Shannon so glad you have joined us today.

What is your go to comfort food ?

Without a doubt it is macaroni and cheese. And it has to be with Velveeta. I used to make huge amounts of it for brandings. My kids always said I made the best macaroni and cheese EVER. These days I buy the Velveeta shells and cheese. It makes me happy. Don't judge me.

What is your guilty pleasure television show?

I already feel guilty enough about the mac and cheese and you're hitting me with another shot? You're relentless. I'm notoriously unsentimental. And yet, I have all the Gilmore Girls on DVD. I've been spending a lot time with my dear friend in Denver. She's brilliant but man, does she love trash TV. She had me watching my 600 Pound Life. I am so traumatized. I may never eat gravy again.

When you have a girls night out what does that entail?

I'm totally not a night person so any other time of day out is great. But it must involve booze. I had the best job when I lived in Flagstaff. My boss and I would knock off at 3 or 4 in the afternoon at least once a week, maybe more. We'd have a "strategy" meeting at any number of great bars. It would put us home at the regular time and leave us bright-eyed for the next day. That's my perfect girls' afternoon out.

Do you have a favorite vacation spot and why?

Funny you should ask. We leave tomorrow for the Carribean for a dive trip. We're doing a live-aboard for a week, sailing between St. Kitts and St. Maarten. I love, love, love sun and sand and water. And diving is my favorite thing to do. But I also love the Grand Canyon, hiking, biking, river running. Oh, so many great places and things to do!

If you could have a date with one Celebrity who would it be and why?

This question stumps me. I am so impressed by celebrity that I clam up and can't think or talk. So I don't think I want to hang with anyone famous. I recently met Sophie Littlefield in a social situation. She was so fun and authentic and we launched into a totally non-writing related conversation. I'd been wanting to read her books but hadn't at that point. So I bought one and read it in the next couple of days. It was so amazingly great and I am really happy I hadn't read it before we met or I wouldn't have been able to relate to her on a woman to woman basis. I'd have gushed all over her.  There you go, another guilty fact about me. (You're enjoying this, aren't you?)

Yes..Yes I am enjoying this!!

Sassy Questions with Laura Bradford

Happy Monday! It's great to have Laura Bradford here with Sassy Questions. Get some coffee or tea and talk sass with us..

Image of Laura Bradford*
What is your guilty pleasure television show?

I’ve watched just about every episode of Survivor since its debut in 2000
I love watching the dynamics of the players. And now that the kids are older,it’s become a bit of a family activity. One of these days, we’re going to have
a Survivor party…

What is a talent you have that would make people be in awe?

My most spectacular talent is my ability to say the entire Big Mac slogan
backwards—and fast!

What actor do you currently have a crush on?

More than the actor, himself, I often find myself drawn to the part an actor plays. For example, I adore the character Will Smith plays inHITCH. So sweet and clever with the dating ideas!   I also find the
character James Marsden plays in 27 DRESSES to be utterly adorable. And, although I’m only in Season 2 and he’s a bit ofa rogue, I think Nathan Fillion’s Rick Castle (on CASTLE) is quite fun, too.

When you have a girls night out what does that entail?

Having picked up and moved after living for 17 years in mybeloved St. Louis, having girls’ night out is a bit harder thesedays. But every once in a while, when some of my oldestgirlfriends are all in one place at the same time, we gettogether for dinner and have a great time just talking and
catching up. I love those nights. They’re good for the soul.

If cost and transportation weren't the issue where would you go for your dream romantic get away?

Brace yourself for this answer…   I’m going to say, Disney World. As wonderful as it is with kids, it’s also incredibly fun as adults—mostly because it brings out a carefree, fun side that is often
buried under “real life” the rest of the time.

What is one thing about you that no one knows?

Hmmm.  I once got to talk to Mary Higgins Clark on the telephone. Oh, and did I happen to mention it was Harlan Coben’s cell phoneon which I spoke to her?
Yep, total and complete fan girl moment.

SHUNNED AND DANGEROUS (my 3rd Amish Mystery) launches next Tuesday (March 4th).  TAKEN IN (the 9th book in my Sewing Circle Mysteries, written as Elizabeth Lynn Casey) comes out August 5th.  My website is: www.laurabradford.com

Blog Tour-Load the Boat by Rosalee Richland

Today's Blog tour is Load the Boat by Rosalee Richland!

LTB cover image CS

Synopsis
Darla King left her position as a Florida investigator hoping to avoid any further involvement with law enforcement—but her curiosity keeps getting in her way. Darla is beginning to realize that what she envisioned as the simple life of a square dance caller is not so simple after all. When Darla agrees to serve as a square dance caller on a cruise, she plans on a little work and a lot of fun, sun, and romance. Her friends from Clearton Squares have the same ideas. Instead, she and her friends discover pornographic DVDs, a dead crew member,  and a mysterious man with a satchel. She lands in danger, escaping with on-the-spot ingenuity. All that and Mandy, who has bad memories from a previous cruise and is getting a little too friendly with Doug. This is the second in the Darla King series and continues her adventures.

my review:
I really enjoyed this book. The plot was fantastic and the characters likable. When Darla accepted the job as a square dance caller on a ship she thought is was going to be an easy job. So when a murder of a crew member takes place she finds more trouble than it is worth. Darla's seemingly fun job is no longer what she wants. She has to find out who the killer is before they strike again.

Author Spotlight- Annette Blair

Happy Wednesday! Today's Spotlight is the Fabulous Annette Blair!!

Image of Annette Blair

I have enjoyed all of her books and look forward to many more hours of great reading! Have you read her books?

(this is from her amazon page)
Dear Readers,
Thank you! I'm officially a New York Times & a USA Today Bestselling Author.
Writers have many dreams for their careers, not the least of which is to have their books hit those lists. But it came as a delightful surprise, 2 days after surgery, to learn that JACOB'S RETURN, a book of my heart, hit that coveted milestone in its second release, fifteen years after the first. Many thanks to you, my wonderful readers. for making it possible. For those who are not familiar with the story, JACOB'S RETURN is a SEXY Amish Historical Romance, though no Amish writing rules existed when the book was written in the late nineteen-eighties. Now sexy Amish Historicals have become something of a trademark. My dedicated readers want the love scenes.
Meanwhile my New York Times Bestselling Mystery Series increased by one. TULLE DEATH DO US PART, my 6th Vintage Magic Mystery brought more notes and email than ever. I love hearing from you, so thank you so much. Your words delight and encourage me. Thanks too for your reviews, for telling your friends & posting your enthusiasm on social sites. Nothing is as valuable as word of mouth. Thank you for mentioning my work. A writer can't succeed alone. I could never succeed without you.
It's been nearly eight years since I left my job as a Development Director at a New England Prep School to become a full time writer, and I am still loving the heck out of it. I will admit that my knee replacement surgeries interfered with my creativity in 2013. I had one in March and one in September. Your cards, good thoughts, vibes, white light, & prayers, are much appreciated.
I didn't always know I wanted to be a writer, but I discovered Jane Eyre soon after I got my first library card. I was eleven and already giving every story a romantic spin, whether it called for one or not. In high school, I wrote romances about my friends and their boyfriends. Racy stuff for which their mothers did not thank me. That was my single true rebellion as a teen, and I'm so glad I ran with it. Because over-achieving, goody-two-shoes have no fun.
When my children were young, I jotted plot ideas on corners of envelopes, recipe cards, and such, and threw them in my nightstand. One day, I picked one and started writing. I have since journeyed to Regency England; 19th century Amish America; twenty-first century Salem, Massachusetts; Newport, Rhode Island; and Mystic, Connecticut; falling in love and solving mysteries along the way. I created a host of sassy, sexy witches who tantalize and torment the men in their lives. Hopefully, those men and women, witches and rogues alike, will make some happy magic for you.
I've re-released: The Rogues Club, a Multi-Award-Winning series of Regency Historical Romances. UNDENIABLE ROGUE, UNFORGETTABLE ROGUE, UNMISTAKABLE ROGUE & UNTAMABLE ROGUE. They're Unputdownable, as are: SEA SCOUNDREL, CAPTIVE SCOUNDREL, PROPER SCOUNDREL & HOLY SCOUNDREL.
Many of you have asked me, "What's next?" To get through a recovery that can be depressing--pain and physical therapy are a drag--I gravitated toward a Contemporary Romantic Comedy Series with a touch of Magic. It's filling my creative well, making me laugh, and keeping me working. You can expect WISHING WELL WEDDING (tentative title) in the first quarter of 2014.
Happy Reading, Happy New Year, and much love,
Annette

True Love by Jude Deveraux--blog tour

I am so excited to be part of Jude Deveraux's blog tour. Jude Deveraux is the New York Times Best-selling Author! True Love is her latest book and it is a Must read!

True Love

True Love by Jude Deveraux will be released in Mass-market size on May 27th!
**This is a first book in a new trilogy!
Jude Deveraux, the New York Times bestselling author of unforgettable romance, returns with a breathtaking first book in a fantastic new series—the Nantucket Brides trilogy. Set on the magical Massachusetts island, True Love introduces characters from a new generation of Montgomery-Taggerts, the beloved family from Deveraux’s classic novels.
Just as Alix Madsen is finishing up architectural school, Adelaide Kingsley dies and wills her, for one year, the use of a charming nineteenth-century Nantucket house. The elderly woman’s relationship to the Madsen family is a mystery to the spirited Alix—fresh from a romantic breakup—but for reasons of her own Alix accepts the quirky bequest, in part because it gives her time to plan her best friend’s storybook wedding.

here is my review of True Love:

True Love is a beautiful romance story set in Nantucket, the character are strong developed people and the plot is well written. Jude keeps you in the book wanting more and adds a little twist to keep you reading.

In this story you meet and get to know Alix who is an architect student just finishing her schooling .Alix  She his asked to stay in the Nantucket Mansion for one year  from the late Adelaide Kingsley. Unsure why and with reservations about it she honors Adelaide's wishes and moves into the mansion. Not remembering  she has been their before, Alix makes the best of it.

You will also meet Jared Kingsley. An Architect from New York who will also be staying in the mansion for a year. The mansion was supposed to be left to him. When Jared and Alix find out that they are linked together from years ago things change for both of them and through that they find that living in the mansion is bringing them closer.

Read this book if you haven't already and see what will happen between Alix and Jared.

I received a copy of this book for my honest review as part of the blog tour. And I have enjoyed reading every bit of this book.
