Book Description

 August 7, 2012
Winter is big business in small-town Snowflake, Vermont. Tourists arrive to hit the ski slopes--and what could be more satisfying after a chilly day of carving powder than a steaming bowl of soup?
When Lucky Jamieson inherits her parents' soup shop, By the Spoonful, she realizes it's time to take stock of her life. Should she sell her parents' house or move in herself? Does she really want to run a restaurant business? And what about her grandfather Jack, who seems to be showing signs of Alzheimer's?

But her life decisions are moved to the back burner after an icy blonde tourist is found frozen to death behind the soup shop. and Lucky is bowled over when her soup chef, Sage DuBois, is led out of the kitchen by the police. As suspicion and speculations snowball, Lucky decides that the only way to save her employee and her business is to find out herself who iced the tourist--and landed her chef in the soup...

  6. I love soup! And snow. That's why I need to get this book! I looked for it at the bookstore last night but they didn't have it. Right now I can't think of a favorite, although homemade cream of mushroom is very good, chicken noodle, ham and bean, split pea, wedding soup, homemade version of Olive Garden's potato soup, there are more...

    1. This sounds like a wonderful series with good plots and sub plots. I'm interested in seeing how the author handles the theme of the grandfather with Alzheimer's.

  15. My favorite soup is anything my mother-in-law makes. She is 100% Italian and was taught to cook by her mother who immigrated from Italy.

  17. MY favorite soup is homemade creamy chicken and wild rice soup. My kids on the other hand beg and demand that I make Loaded Potato soup. They are both yummy!
    Sounds like a great read. All I want to do in the winter is curl up and read a good cozy.

  20. I missed the contest reply but wanted to add that my favorite soup is homemade mini meatball onion and vegetable soup with pasta. It is almost like minestrone but with a much more onion soup base. Love Vermont and love your series. Looking forward to ordering this next book. Thank you.
