Friday 56

Happy Friday!  I will be on the road in just a while for our vacation to D.C. Today's Friday 56 is The Question of the Missing Head by E.J. Copperman/Jeff Cohen.

" I noted that you made no effort to freeze her body after she was killed." I said. It seems to me that someone who would work in the field might well have deserved to experience it herself when necessary." Mrs. Washburn's eyes narrowed. I took that to mean she hadn't considered the question until I'd posed it." "In fact Rebecca was on the list for preservation, Ackerman answered. But the way she ... What happened to her made it impossible."

book details:

Samuel Hoenig answers questions for a living. And as a man with Asperger’s Syndrome, his unique personality helps him ferret out almost any answer there is. But his latest question is a rather odd one—who stole a preserved head from the Garden State Cryonics Institute?
Arriving at the scene of the crime accompanied by his new colleague, Ms. Washburn, Samuel finds that what started out as a theft has escalated to murder. With suspects and motives emerging at a rapid rate, one final question remains—can Samuel’s powers of deduction uncover a killer in the face of overwhelming odds?
Praise:
"[A] delightful and clever mystery."—PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
"In this well-crafted story, the Asperger's element . . . provides a unique point of view on crime-solving, as well as offering a sensitive look at a too-often-misunderstood condition."—BOOKLIST

  4. I've read a couple of books lately featuring characters with Asperger's (The Rosie Project and House Rules) and enjoyed them a lot, so I'm sure I'd like this book too. Sounds like a good plot.

  5. I read this a few months ago and very much enjoyed it. I noticed the author has written several books on Asperger's syndrome so I'm assuming he knows what he's talking about!
