Author Spotlight- Liz Mugavero

It's time for Author Spotlight and this weeks author is Liz Mugavero! Liz is the author of the Pawsatively Organic Mystery series.

About Liz!

I’ve been writing stories since I could hold a pen. Before that, I would tell them to anyone who would listen (not many people at the time except my grandfather, who was always up for a great story). After deciding early on I would write books for a living, I practiced by writing angst-filled poems, short stories and even a storyline for a soap opera--all by age 15.

I never wavered from my goal despite all the usual questions including, “So are you going to be an English teacher with that degree in English?” or, “That writing thing sounds nice, but how are you REALLY going to make a living?”

I went on to get a master’s in writing and publishing and spent time in journalism, PR and corporate communications. Presently, I work in marketing by day and write my books by night (and weekend, and whenever I have a chance). And I’m confident this writing thing IS the way to make a living.

Aside from writing, I love animals (and have a houseful), the beach, reading other writers’ masterpieces and Starbucks coffee.

The Pawsitively Organic Mysteries is my first series. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I am writing it!

  3. I love writing, but never made it a career. I went into public education. One of the favorite parts of my job was working with students on creative writing. It was difficult in the past decade when the educational mandate changed the focus from creative to clinical. In retirement, I've begun writing my own collection of stories. Fun! kat8762@aol.com
