Victoria Abbott stops by today

Good Morning! Today is a good day! Victoria has stopped by for a visit and we are talking about her new book he Christie Curse, about to be released tomorrow. Are you excited?I know I am .

Thank you for being with us today Victoria. Hope you are having a lovely morning.

Tell us about yourself

We are a mother and daughter writing team having a great time with this new fun book collector series and excited that book one, The Christie Curse, will be out March 5th. Victoria is an artist, demon gardener, photographer and short story writer. MJ is a lapsed librarian and the award-winning author of three mystery series, now three and a half. We love to laugh and cuddle with our dachshunds.

There’s more about us here: www.victoria-abbott.com and www.maryjanemaffini.com

How did the idea for this book come about?

The idea came from our Penguin editor. We loved this concept and thought we might want to add a bipolar cat and some crooked relatives. Plus a sexy librarian named Lance and an Italian cook … and more!

What do you love most about Jordan?

MJ loves that Jordan gets all caught up in the books and in the characters. Also that she’s so determined to go straight and yet her mother’s less than legal Kelly side keeps coming up. She’s also brave and feisty and never lets her imperious boss, Vera Van Alst, get to her. Victoria enjoys Jordan’s relationship with her uncles and the family dynamic. We both love her wardrobe and her enjoyment off all things vintage. You can see samples of Jordan’s tastes on Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/jbinghamkelly/

What are you working on now?

We are polishing The Sayers Swindle, the second book collector mystery and have started The Wolfe Widow. We love Dorothy L. Sayers and Nero Wolfe, so these books are fun for us. The work always involves re-reading and getting to know about the author. Certainly Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers and Rex Stout had very interesting lives—sometimes stranger than fiction.

If you could have a dinner date with any character from any book who would it be and why?

Victoria would be willing to risk all and have dinner with the elegant and shadowy Salvatore. MJ would love to spend an evening with Uncle Mick of Michael Kelly’s Fine Antiques. She’d eat first though (self-preservation) and have maybe just a sip of Irish whiskey.

Victoria Abbott is a collaboration between the always very funny and creative artist, photographer and short story author, Victoria Maffini and her mother, Mary Jane Maffini, award-winning author of three mystery series and two dozen short stories. Their four miniature dachshunds are understandably outraged that a pug and some Siamese cats have wiggled their way into the series.

You don't want to miss this release!!!!!
