Synopsis:
Another murder in small town Cold Creek has tensions rising. Clive Johnson, the groundskeeper at Cold Creek College, is a convenient scapegoat for a police chief who seeks an easy solution. Convinced Chief Pfeiffe has it all wrong, professor and psychologist Sheridan Hendley sets out to help prove Clive’s innocence. But not everyone is pleased by her enthusiastic search for the truth. Just as her life is looking up personally, it looks like she might be the next victim.
My book review:
I have loved this series since the first book and this book really shows the strong characters. The story is so good you will be hooked from the start and eagerly wanting more when it is over.  Professor Hendley is back at it again trying to solve the case and prove her friends innocence before it is too late. I enjoyed every part of this book!
My interview with Christa:
S.G. Tell us about your self?

C.N. Shelley, thank you so much for hosting today!
Like Sheridan, I trained as a psychologist and work in a college setting.  I also love mysteries and puzzles of all types and online game. I love to read – mystery, cozy mystery, romance, and scifi/fantasy.  I also love to garden and spend many hours working in mine.  I like to travel and I like to dance. I am married (never divorced)  - a major difference from Sheridan.  I’m afraid I’m also not as calm and even-keeled as she is.
S.G.When writing this book what was the hardest thing about it? Easiest?
C.N. That’s a hard one. Probably, the hardest thing was deciding who I wanted to be the killer and then planting the seeds so it would make sense.  The easiest was the growing relationship between Sheridan and Brett.  Or maybe the memories of online dating experiences.

S.G.This is book two in the series. How much have your main characters grown?
C.N. The main characters of Sheridan, Brett, and Kim have more depth, with a bit more backstory shared. Also, there is the inevitable growth that occurs as Sheridan and Brett achieve new levels in their relationship. The focus is more on Kim this round, and she probably shows the most growth.
S.G. What is in store for this series next?

C.N. Book three is started, and now that Sheridan has a reputation as a sleuth and a good relationship with the Chief of Police, the murder is off campus in Cold Creek.  She continues to use her psychology background and analytic mind to put all the pieces of the puzzle together.
S.G. What book are you currently reading?

C.N. Prosecco Pink by Traci Andrighetti and Gemma Halliday. I just finished the ARC of a new release, Think Murder by Cassidy Salem.
S.G.What was your favorite part of 2014?
C.N. Besides publishing a second novel? I think the best has been connecting with readers and other authors via social networks.  One of these days, I may have the opportunity to meet some of them face-to-face.  They’ve all been very supportive.
S.G. Do you have something exciting you are looking forward to in 2015?
C.N. The New Year is just about here and you are throwing a big celebration. You invite five authors. They are Kassandra Lamb, Debra Garner, Maggie Sefton, Ellen Crosby, Vannessa Gray Bartal.  The menu would include wine (Virginia winery of course), a variety of hors d’oeuvres, salad, steak, and vegetables.  Dessert? Something chocolate along with a dessert drink of some sort.
S.G. What three things do you want your readers to know about you?

C.N.I’d love to hear from readers and what they like (or don’t like) about my books.  My blog (Christa Reads and Writes) not only provides updates on Cold Creek but also includes book reviews as I am a voracious reader. So stop by. Finally, sometime in late spring, I will be looking for beta readers for Book 3 – as yet untitled, so if any of the readers are interested, they can contact me.
